El Olio Wolof – Monday July 1!

Everybody loves El Olio Wolof. Don’t bother disagreeing with me. It won’t help you here. Having said that, let’s all jump on this bandwagon of musical radicalness, and have a good old fashioned sing-a-long on Monday when these guys hit the stage.

Sighting both Tom Waits and Shel Silverstein as influences, this lo-fi band from Merced has become known for producing mysterious and child-like dirges.

Maria Taylor/ Jonathan Rice – Wednesday July 2!

The melodic sighs on her recordings seem to be the only breaths Maria Taylor has the time to take. Though often referred to as half of the duo Azure Ray, Maria’s course was charted well before that – from her childhood home in Birmingham, which her father, a musician, equipped with a studio. Some things a person just knows, and for Maria, being a musician was never really a question.

Hi-Dive is very excited to welcome Maria Taylor, Jonathan Rice and Nik Freitas on Wednesday July 2.

Best Rock Club!
